Lost $600 on a foundation repair that didn't even fix the crack
Hired a guy named Dave from a crew off Kijiji to fix a basement crack near my place in Mill Woods. Paid him $600 up front and he just sprayed some foam in there that peeled off after 2 weeks. Now I've got water coming in again and he won't answer my calls. Has anyone else dealt with a shady foundation contractor around here?

God that's SO frustrating, I really feel for you. You trusted someone to fix a serious problem and they just took your money and ran. @the_tessa is absolutely right about never paying up front for this kind of thing, but who thinks they have to worry about someone ripping them off for a basement crack? Dave clearly knew exactly what he was doing with that cheap foam trick, it's a total SCAM. I hope you blasted his name on social media or something so he can't keep doing this to other people in Mill Woods. Seriously, that kind of stuff makes my blood boil, especially when it's someone's home and they're trying to keep water out.

600 bucks up front for a foundation job in Mill Woods? That's a huge red flag right there. Dave probably put in a cheap polyurethane foam instead of the actual epoxy injection that job needed.

Stop paying anyone for foundation work up front, seriously. My buddy in Leduc hired a guy named Dave too, not sure if it's the same one @oliver_morgan warned about, and he did the exact same thing with cheap foam that crumbled. Next time get three quotes and only pay after the crack actually holds water.
