Hired a local crew for my basement reno and they went MIA for 2 weeks

I booked Classic Renovations out of Edmonton for my basement drywall and taping back in March. They showed up for one day, did part of the mudding, then ghosted me for 2 weeks with no call. Has anyone else had contractors disappear like that in Edmonton or was I just unlucky?

Two weeks of silence after one day's work is brutal, I would be losing my mind too. Hope you get them back soon or find someone better.

Is there a chance they're deliberately ghosting because they feel bad about the quality of the work they did? Sometimes people disappear when they know they rushed a job and don't want to deal with the fallout. Might explain why they booked it, did it, and then vanished.
