Client told me my drywall finishing was too bumpy, so I switched to a 12 inch knife

After 5 years of using a 10 inch knife, a custom home builder pointed out the ridges in my tape coats and said I was creating extra work. Switching to the larger knife flattened everything out and cut my sanding time by half. Any other drywallers here made the switch to a bigger knife and notice a difference?

My buddy Dave fought the same problem for years until he borrowed my 12 inch on a quick patch job, came back and told me it was like driving a Cadillac after a go kart. He bought one that same week and never looked back.
