Tried a hot mud plus quickset mix on a Friday rush job, couldnt believe the finish

Had a closet ceiling in a remodel over on 12th St that had to be ready by Monday morning. Mixed some 45 min with a scoop of easy sand 90 cause I was out of 20 and figured it would just slow things down. Taped the whole thing in one shot and by the time I finished the corners the first coat was already skimming out. Sanded smooth with almost zero effort and the GC asked what brand I used. Anyone else try blending setting times like that or am I just lucky?

You're calling that a win but you basically got lucky with a gamble, that mix can bite you hard when it kicks faster than you expect and leaves you with a mess. Skimming out easy on a closet ceiling means nothing, try that on a big wall and you'll be chipping it off with a hammer.
