The time I used a pizza cutter to fix a bad tape line
I was in a real bind on a Reno job last Tuesday, my taping knife was busted and the hardware store was closed. I grabbed a clean pizza cutter from my lunch box and it actually gave me a super clean, straight line on the corner bead. Has anyone else tried a weird tool in a pinch that actually worked out?

That kind of improvisation shows how the best solutions are often simple. People get stuck looking for the "right" tool when a common object does the job perfectly. It is a good reminder to look at things for what they can do, not just what they are called.

Lol the pizza cutter move is genius, I've done the same thing. That little wheel is perfect for cutting caulk or trimming a loose edge of drywall tape. Honestly, keep a cheap one in your tool bag, it's way better than trying to hack it with a knife. Just wipe the cheese off first.

Oh totally, I've been there too! The first time I needed to cut some old caulk out of my bathroom, I grabbed a pizza cutter out of the drawer on a whim. Worked like a charm, sliced right through it without messing up the tile. I also use one for cutting craft foam sheets when I'm making stupid projects for my kid, way smoother than scissors. The trick is definitely keeping it clean though, once I forgot to wash off some grease and it left a weird residue on the drywall. Now I just keep a separate one in the garage with my other junk tools.
