Pro tip: Skip the self-tapping screws on metal studs

Switched to a collated screw gun with standard bugle heads and my speed doubled in one week. The self-tappers kept snapping on 20-gauge studs. Anyone else ditch those things yet?

Buddy of mine had three snap on him in one morning, threw the box across the garage.

@irismartinez Your buddy should've just bought a better brand. Those cheap bulk boxes are notorious for snapping, especially if they've been sitting in a damp garage.

My buddy Mike had three of those self-tappers snap in a row on a fire-rated stud. He just stood there staring at the ceiling for a solid minute.
