My cheap stilts broke at the worst possible time
Was hanging board on a stairwell ceiling in Tacoma when my $120 pair of stilts buckled on the second step. Landed on a bucket of mud and messed up my knee for a week. Anyone else cheap out on stilts and regret it, or is there a mid-range pair that actually holds up?

Three weeks ago I dropped $90 on "pro-grade" stilts from a guy selling them out of his van. They held up great until I tried to walk backwards over a heat vent. snapped right at the ankle joint. Went down like a sack of potatoes in front of the whole crew. My buddy still calls me Stilts Malone. Now I just use the ladder and accept that my knees sound like popcorn.
