Dropped $80 on a laser level and it was a total bust
I figured I'd treat myself to a decent laser level for hanging board in this big basement remodel... thought it would save me time marking lines. First day using it, the calibration was off by a good quarter inch over 20 feet. Now I'm back to my old chalk line and a 4-foot level, but that's $80 I ain't getting back. Anyone else get burned by a so-called 'pro' tool that just didn't work?

Bought one of those cheaper brand name laser levels a few years back thinking I was getting a deal. Dead level out of the box, like yours, but what really got me was how fast the battery crapped out. Second job with it and it started dimming after like an hour, so you're constantly second guessing if the beam is still true or if it's just the power dropping. I think the problem is these companies slap a "professional" sticker on stuff that's really just meant for weekend warriors hanging a couple shelves, not for guys like us who need it to hold up on a whole basement. The return window closed by the time I figured out it was junk, so I feel your pain on that eighty bucks.
