Blew past 10,000 sheets hung and nobody cares but me
Just counted my delivery tickets from my first year to now. 10,427 sheets of 5/8 rock hung solo and with crews. That's a stupid number to think about but it hit me different. I remember fighting my first ceiling with a leaky lift and now I can eye a 12 footer and know if it'll drop in 5 minutes. The older guys never seem to mark numbers like that, is that just a young guy thing or do we all secretly track our totals?

That "nobody cares but me" part is what got me. It's like most of the stuff we put real effort into just disappears, but the numbers stick with us. I think we all track something quietly, even if the older guys won't admit it. It’s the same with anything you do long enough, from cooking to fixing cars. You start remembering every little milestone that nobody else would ever notice, and that's okay. It’s proof you showed up and did the work, even if the world doesn’t keep a scoreboard for it.
