TIL that older operator's tip about running the cutter at half speed was garbage for hard clay
That guy with 30 years on the Mississippi told me to drop RPMs when the clay got stiff, and it just jammed my ladder pipe twice before I flipped to full throttle and cleared it in 10 minutes, so has anyone else found those 'old school' methods actually fail on modern dredge pumps?

My 1984 Ellicott always dug better at full throttle in that blue gumbo.
