That $60 'professional grade' grease gun was a total waste until I actually used it on the right fitting
I spent 6 months cursing the thing on my 3412 Cat because I was using the wrong coupler head, a dude from the barge next door literally laughed at me and handed me the right one, now it works like magic so has anyone else been humbled by a little brass adapter?

Oh buddy, you just brought back some painful memories. I spent two weeks cussing out a brand new grease gun on my dump truck before the old-timer next door walked over and showed me I had the coupler on backwards. Felt like a real genius that day. It's funny how the smallest dumb piece of brass or steel can make you feel like you don't know your own equipment. But once you get that right click and feel the grease move, it's like the clouds part and the sun shines.

@ray_miller41 kinda right but couplers usually aren't backwards, just locked wrong.

...and it's basically the same with everything, not just grease guns. Every time something doesn't work, I've learned to check the stupidest simplest thing first because that's always what it is. Like my truck making a weird noise for a week, turned out a rock was stuck between the brake rotor and the dust shield. Not a broken part, not a sensor issue, just a rock. Feels like life is mostly just figuring out which tiny obvious thing you're overlooking. The old timers just know to check that stuff first because they've already done the two week cussing routine a hundred times.
