PSA: Spent a morning watching the dredge at Myrtle Beach and changed my mind about slower passes

I was down in Myrtle Beach last week and watched a guy work a section near the pier for about an hour. He was moving at half my usual speed but the cut was so clean and even I couldn't argue with the result. Has anyone else tried crawling along and seen better material removal?

Was the even cut just luck or did you notice him adjusting his angle too?

Yeah I feel that, watching someone take their time like that can really shift your whole perspective on speed. It's kind of humbling when you realize slow and steady is actually pulling out way more material in the long run. I've been trying to force myself to slow down too and it's tough but the cuts come out way nicer.

Did you ever try that thing where you focus on your breathing before you cut?
