I stuck with a manual swing ladder over a hydraulic one, no buyer's remorse in 14 months

Everyone on my crew in Galveston swore I was insane for passing on a hydraulic swing ladder on the refurb we were speccing. I picked the manual because the hydraulics add 900 lbs of dead weight and one more system to fail on a 20 foot dredge. It takes me an extra 20 seconds to reposition, but I've seen two hydraulic units down for weeks waiting on seals. Anyone else running manual gear just to keep things simple?
