Cutting edge vs. round nose, which do you swear by after that Lake Erie night job?

I was running suction near Toledo last October and a clogged cutterhead cost me 6 hours, but my buddy swears a round nose never grabs debris, so is the extra cutting power worth the cleanup risk or should I switch?

Think about what the impeller is doing when you back off the cutterhead, not just the cutting edge... that's where the real debris jams happen. A round nose might slide past stuff, but it also lets more material through to the pump, which means you're trading a cutterhead clog for a bent impeller blade. I'd rather spend six hours digging out the cutter than replacing a $400 impeller mid-season.
