A talk with a guy from the Army Corps changed how I see silt curtains.
We were working near a protected marsh in Mobile Bay, and he explained how a simple curtain placement, just 50 feet further out, cut turbidity by half. I always thought they were mostly for show, but seeing the real data made me rethink our whole setup. Has anyone else had to adjust their curtain plan after getting new info on a job?

Mostly for show" is the perfect way to put it, that's exactly what I used to think too. It's wild how a tiny move can make that big a difference, makes you wonder how many other sites are just doing it wrong. I guess we all just copy the last guy's plan without asking why. Now I'm side-eyeing every curtain I see just flopping around in the water.

Right? I finally just tried angling mine inward a bit more. The water actually goes down the drain now instead of pooling. Total game changer for something so simple.
