Vent: my double batch chili took 6 hours and still tasted like the pot

I followed a viral tiktok chili recipe that promised 45 minutes, but between browning 3 lbs of meat in batches and waiting for the beans to soften, it was 6 hours before we sat down to eat. The flavor was flat, all I could taste was the canned tomato paste and maybe the pot itself. Has anyone else had a viral recipe take way longer than the post said, and did you actually fix it or just toss it?

Probably the tiktoker was lying and never even cooked that chili.
