Update: Bought a $300 'smart' scale for site surveys, total waste.

The app crashed constantly and the laser was less accurate than my old tape measure. Anyone have a reliable digital distance tool they actually use?

A three hundred dollar laser that's worse than a piece of string, that's a special kind of tech fail. My old Bosch laser measure has been dropped off ladders and still works fine. Did the app at least give you a cool error message before it died?

But what if the app integration was actually the whole point? Maybe the convenience of having measurements logged automatically was worth the trade-off for some people. It just seems like they were aiming for a different kind of tool than a simple rugged distance measure.

Totally get what lane.cameron is saying, but my app bricked the whole unit after one update.
