Swore by manual drafting for years, then switched to digital and ate crow
I was that guy who always said hand drafting was the only real way. Thought CAD was for lazy people who couldn't handle a pencil. Then my boss threw me on a project with a 2 day turnaround for a commercial building in Austin. Had to use Autodesk and honestly it saved my butt. The snap tools and layer management made the whole thing way cleaner than anything I could do by hand. Has anyone else been forced to switch tools and ended up surprised?

Lol yeah I was totally on that train too. Used to think digital was cheating or something but after doing a big project in Revit I had to admit it's just way faster and easier to fix mistakes.

Ngl you had me until Revit. Wait you're talking about BIM software for your whole project? Like full parametric modeling with all the systems tied together? That changes everything. I thought we were just talking about drafting in CAD or whatever. That's a whole different level of digital workflow. Honestly that kind of investment in the software plus the training time makes me feel like I'm way behind the curve now. Gotta ask how long it took you to really get comfortable with it before you felt like it was actually faster.
