Stray line weight choice cost me a full day of redlines

Last Thursday I set all my dimension layers to 0.5mm in the template because the plot looked cleaner on my screen. Then I sent the sheet to the fabricator and they called asking if the prints were supposed to be that faint. Had to go back through every viewport override in the model, took about 6 hours to fix. I keep hearing line weight doesn't matter with PDFs but that call proved otherwise. Any of you run separate plot styles just for shop drawings?
