Spent 2 hours last week trying to figure out why my AutoCAD layers weren't plotting right
Turns out I had a random object on a defpoints layer that was messing everything up (whoops). Has anyone else had a dumb layer mistake cost them a ton of time?

Layer problems are always the hidden ones. It's like when you can't find your keys and they're in your hand the whole time. Usually the thing you overlook is the thing messing everything up.

@oliver_morgan you're not alone there. I used to think I had it all figured out until I spent a whole weekend chasing a z offset that was fine the whole time. What worked for me was stepping back and running a simple first layer test square every time before a print. It takes two minutes and saves hours of guessing. Also keeping a little notebook next to my printer helped me track what I changed and when. You don't realize how much you forget until you write it down. Have you tried something like that or are you still hunting down ghosts?
