I finally saw a 2D CAD file corrupt so badly it turned a simple floor plan into a modern art piece last Thursday.

The client's deadline was in 4 hours, so I had to rebuild the entire first-floor layout from my last plotted PDF, which took me until midnight. What's the weirdest file corruption you've ever had to recover from?

Tracing corrupted art sounds fun, @jenkins.tyler, but deadlines don't care.

File corruption is basically a free art lesson, you should have charged extra for the modern design. Rebuilding from a PDF sounds like a huge waste of time when you could have just traced over the cool new shapes. Sometimes the corrupted version is a better starting point than the boring original.

Oh man, I had a parts list turn into a single, mile-long sentence once. Took me forever to untangle that mess.
