CAD models have a way of hiding those kinds of conflicts until it's too late. I once modeled a whole floor plan only to find a stairway passing through a load-bearing wall. The render looked fine, but the building would have collapsed. It's the digital version of discovering a pipe through a beam. Always a fun time.

Yeah, I ran into that with some ductwork fighting with structural beams last year. What finally helped was forcing myself to run clash detection every single time I added a major system, even if it slowed me down. Found a bunch of small problems early when they were easy to move a few inches. Letting it all build up and only checking at the end is a sure way to find a disaster. What's your usual check point for running those clashes?

Totally feel that pain of hidden digital conflicts. Your method of checking after each major system is smart, even if it's a drag in the moment. Catching those early saves so much headache later.
