Finally finished my first full set of permit drawings solo
Been drafting for 5 years but always had a senior drafter checking my work. Last month my boss threw me on a small commercial build in Tacoma and said good luck. Took me 2 weeks longer than I thought, but the city approved it on the first pass yesterday. Has anyone else had that moment where you realize you actually know what you're doing? What was your first solo project like?
2 weeks for a small commercial build seems slow to me. I had my first solo permit set done in 9 days and the city still kicked it back twice. First pass approval is lucky, but it doesn't mean you know what you're doing, it means the plan checker had a good day.
