Before-and-after on my CAD templates over 6 months

I redid all my cabinet templates from scratch starting last January, going from basic 2D blocks to full 3D assemblies with callouts. The difference in how fast I revise layouts now is huge, I cut my revision time by almost half. Has anyone else seen that big a jump from cleaning up old templates?

Read an article about this exact thing. Said most guys just pile on new blocks without ever cleaning house. You did it right by starting fresh. That time savings is real when you don't have to fight bad templates. I did something similar with my electrical symbols last year. Hated doing it at first but now I get jobs done way faster than before. Old habits die hard but the payoff is worth it.

Man I feel personally attacked by that article because that's literally been my entire career up until like six months ago. I was the king of just stacking new crap on top of old crap and wondering why everything ran like garbage. When I finally sat down and nuked my whole block library I felt like I was throwing away years of work which is stupid because most of it was broken anyway. Now I can actually find things without playing hide and seek with my own templates. Kinda makes me wonder how much time I wasted over the years being too stubborn to just start over.
