TIL my $30 caulk gun was ruining every bathroom project I did
Honestly, I spent like 6 months fighting with this cheap caulk gun from the hardware store on Main Street. Every bead I laid was bumpy and uneven, and I kept blaming the caulk itself or my own shaky hands. Then my neighbor Dave let me borrow his $40 ratchet rod caulk gun last weekend, and holy cow the difference was night and day. First bead came out smooth and even, no mess, no wasted tubes. Has anyone else dealt with a junk tool holding back their finish work?

Pfft, it's just squeezing goo out of a tube, not building a rocket ship.

Wait, did your buddy Dave's gun feel way heavier than the cheap ones? My friend Marcus went through like 4 tubes of silicone on his shower rebuild before he realized his $15 caulk gun from a big box store had a bent plunger rod the whole time. He said it was binding up and making this awful squeaking noise every time he pulled the trigger, but he thought that was just normal. When he finally borrowed a nicer one from a tile guy he knew, he texted me a video of the first bead just flowing out perfectly and called himself an idiot for not upgrading sooner lol.
