Serious question, is everyone just using peel and stick backsplash now?

I used to mix mortar and cut real tile for every kitchen job, which took a full weekend. After a client in Denver wanted a quick update, I tried a vinyl tile sheet from a big box store. It went up in about four hours and has held up fine for two years. I still think the real stuff is better, but the time saved is hard to ignore. Has anyone else had a vinyl backsplash last longer than expected?

Wow, @margaret_gonzalez25, three years? What brand was that?

How long did yours hold up? I put some of that sticky tile in my old apartment and it looked fine for like three years before I moved.

Was that the peel and stick kind? I read a blog where someone said the cheap ones start to curl at the edges after a year, but the thicker ones can last if the floor is super clean when you put them down.
