PSA: I was sure those magnetic paint additives were a gimmick.
Used one on a garage wall for tool storage after my brother insisted. The wall holds a full 12-inch wrench now, no problem. Anyone found a better way to mount metal items without drilling?

My kitchen backsplash is magnetic now, and it holds every stray knife.

Magnetic backsplash sounds cool until you grab a knife and slice your hand open. That's a serious safety hazard waiting to happen. You might want to rethink that setup.

Troy's got a point about the safety risk. Knives are dangerous even when they're properly stored, and having them just sitting out like that is asking for trouble. I've seen too many kitchen accidents happen because people got careless for just a second. A magnetic strip for knives is one thing, but a whole backsplash makes me nervous. One wrong move grabbing something else and you're in the ER. Seems like a lot of risk for a cool design trick.

I read somewhere that those magnetic strips can actually demagnetize credit cards if you lean against them lol.
