Pro tip: that $200 epoxy garage floor kit is a total scam for DIYers
I spent 8 hours prepping my concrete, laying down that big box store kit, and after 3 months it's peeling up like a sunburn, so did I just get a bad batch or are these kits all garbage for anyone without a commercial grinder?

nguyen.tara's got a point about the marketing hype, but did you actually grind the concrete first or just scrub it with that etcher stuff they include? The peeling along the edges makes me think the concrete wasn't porous enough to grab the coating, and those kits rely on you getting that chemical etch perfectly right which nobody ever does. Was there any powdery residue left after you rinsed it, or did it dry tacky right away before you even opened the epoxy buckets?

Honestly, $200 says the only thing those kits are good at is making you feel like a pro for about a month. Tbh, I'm convinced they sell paint thinner in fancy buckets with a picture of a car on it. Ngl, you're better off just buying a tarp and pretending it's a work in progress.
