My neighbor swore by peel-and-stick tile for the kitchen backsplash

Tbh I thought it would peel off after a month in my humid kitchen near Portland, but it's been 8 months and it still looks solid. I almost went with real subway tile but that would have cost me $400 more and taken 3 weekends. Has anyone else had peel-and-stick hold up better than you expected?

Yeah that stuff surprised me too honestly... @parkera22 the humidity thing is actually a myth, it's UV that kills peel-and-stick.

Wait, wait - you're telling me UV is the real problem, not humidity? That actually makes so much sense because my kitchen gets direct afternoon sun through a west-facing window and I thought for SURE the heat would wreck it. Now I'm wondering if my peel-and-stick will start curling in year two or something, lol. I've got a friend in Arizona who had hers fail after 6 months and we all blamed the dry heat but maybe it was the sun streaming in.
