Had a nightmare of a day trying to hang drywall solo in my garage last Saturday

I must have measured and cut that first sheet 4 times before I got it right, and then the screw gun jammed halfway through hanging it, which made me wonder if anyone else has a better method for getting a perfect cut without a dedicated drywall square?

My cousin just uses a circular saw and a straight 2x4 clamped on.

My buddy tried that last weekend and it actually worked pretty good for him. He was all stressed about cutting straight lines and that little trick saved him.
