Finished painting my living room after 4 months of putting it off

I finally finished painting the living room this weekend after staring at those sample swatches since February. Got all 4 walls done with just one gallon of paint left over, which surprised me since I figured I'd need way more. Has anyone else had a project take way longer than expected but turn out better than you thought?

Did you end up using the sample color you started with or switch it up halfway through? I did that with my kitchen last year - sat on the paint for 5 months before finally just slapping it on the walls. Turns out the "maybe" color I was so stressed about ended up looking way better than I ever expected. Just goes to show sometimes overthinking it is the worst part, and the actual doing is way easier than you built it up to be in your head.

Oh man that's such a good point @owens.cameron, overthinking is definitely the enemy of getting stuff done around the house. You're totally right that the actual painting part is way less stressful than the weeks of agonizing over it beforehand. Now I'm wondering if I should just go for it with my original color choice and stop second-guessing myself.
