Warning: Lost 3 weeks of work when my external drive died in Bali

I was working from a co-working space in Ubud last month and my portable SSD just stopped reading mid-editing session. Anyone else backing up to cloud or am I just unlucky?

Did you have any warning signs before it died? I lost a hard drive in Thailand two years ago, same deal - just stopped working with no noise or anything. Now I back up to two different cloud services just to be safe.

Cloud backups are just more places for your data to get stolen.
