Used to spend $400 a month on coworking memberships I barely used
Now I just work from local libraries in whatever city I'm in and pocket that money, after realizing last year in Lisbon that I only actually sat in those trendy spaces about 6 times a month anyway.

I mean, is saving a few hundred bucks on coworking spaces really that big of a deal? It's not like you're missing rent or anything.

Have you actually tried running a business from home for a few months straight? That coworking membership pays for itself when you factor in the electric bill you're not paying at home, plus not having to buy your own coffee and printer ink. I started tracking my home office expenses vs what I spent on a basic WeWork membership and the difference was way smaller than I expected once I added up all the little costs. The real kicker for me was the mental separation, not having work stuff spill into my living room saved me from burning out during tax season.

@seth683 it's not about the money being life changing, it's about not wasting it on stuff you don't use. I get the library move, feels good to pocket that cash and still have a quiet place to focus.
