Unpopular opinion: co-working spaces are overrated for actual work

Honestly, I used to swear by co-working spaces in places like Medellin, paying $150 a month for a desk. Then I switched to working from a quiet cafe or my Airbnb with a good portable router, and I get way more done. What changed for me was realizing I spent half the time chatting and the other half adjusting my chair or dealing with bad AC. Has anyone else found that solo setups beat the coworking hype?

Dude the AC thing is real. I had this one spot in Buenos Aires where the AC would just quit at like 2pm every day and everyone would be sitting there sweating into their keyboards. Totally kills the vibe. Sorry you had to deal with that at home too, nothing worse than feeling trapped in your own place because the air is garbage. Hope you got that library setup working for a while though, sometimes a change of scene is all you need.

You can change the scenery all you want but if the AC's on the fritz it doesn't matter where you sit. I spent a whole month working from a library once just because my home unit gave out.
