Torn between Bali and Chiang Mai for my base, picked Chiang Mai and it's working out great

I was stuck deciding between a beach lifestyle in Bali or cheap living in Chiang Mai for 6 months. Picked Chiang Mai because I found a room with fiber internet for $250 a month near the Nimman area. Working from cafes here is super easy and the air quality has been good so far in November. Anyone else have to choose between two popular digital nomad spots and how did you decide?

man i went through the same thing last year and i literally flipped a coin. landed on Bali so i booked a flight then immediately regretted it and changed it to Chiang Mai the next day lol. no ragrets though the food alone is worth the indecision.

oh man @grayc27 the food thing is real. i literally cannot imagine choosing between pad thai and nasi goreng for a whole month. you just know your stomach was happy even if your brain was scrambled for a bit. the flip trick honestly works though, takes the pressure off.

honestly you guys both made the wrong call. bali has way better food if you actually leave the tourist spots and the beaches destroy any cafe vibe. i spent 4 months in each and the internet is the same in both places if you pick a decent spot. plus bali's coworking spaces have pools and actual views instead of staring at a wall in nimman.
