That hostel in Medellin that made me ditch my whole packing strategy

I was staying at this place in Medellin, a hostel called Los Patios, back in 2019. Lugged around this massive 65 liter backpack for three months and my shoulders were shot. Saw this guy from Sweden roll in with just a tiny 28 liter bag and a laptop, and he was living totally fine. Made me realize I was carrying about 40 pounds of stuff I never used, just 'in case.' Has anyone else had a specific place or person completely shift how you pack?

Watched a guy in Thailand travel with just a grocery bag once, blew my mind.

Whoa, I mean is it really that deep though? Like yeah a 65 liter pack is a lot, but you're acting like seeing one guy with a tiny bag ruined your whole life. A 28 liter for three months? He probably smelled like a sock or did laundry every three days, not exactly living the dream.

Wait he went THREE MONTHS with a 28 liter bag? That's insane. I pack more than that just for a weekend trip to the coast.
