Shoutout to the coffee shop in Medellin that bans laptops after 11am - best thing for real connections

I walked in at noon last Wednesday and the owner pointed to a sign and said "go talk to someone or leave" so I actually ended up in a 2 hour conversation with a local designer about remote work burnout, has anyone else found a place that forces you to actually be human instead of glued to a screen?

Small thing though, most of those coffee shops in Medellin actually do the laptop ban later in the afternoon, like 2 or 3pm, not 11am. I've been to a few around Laureles and Estadio that start kicking people off laptops around 1 or 2 when the lunch rush dies down. The one you went to must be a strict outlier with that 11am cutoff, which honestly sounds pretty great for forcing conversations. Glad you got a good talk out of it though, that designer sounds like they had some real stories.

Yeah exactly, an 11am cutoff is pretty wild but honestly sounds like the dream for actually talking to people.
