Pro tip: Found a way to actually do taxes without losing my mind on the road

I've been bouncing between hostels in Thailand for 8 months now and my tax situation turned into a nightmare. Every online tool I tried kept asking for a physical address or didn't handle foreign income right. Then I stumbled onto this thing called the Foreign Earned Income Exclusion after a random Reddit rabbit hole at 2am. Turns out if you're out of the US 330 days a year, you can exclude like $120k from taxable income. I used a simple spreadsheet to track my days in each country and a free IRS form 2555. Took me 3 hours total and I filed from a cafe in Chiang Mai with zero stress. Has anyone else figured out a good system for US taxes while bouncing between countries?

Wait does that 330 days rule count travel days or just full days in a country?

I read a tax blog that said it's about full days in the country, travel days don't count, which seems harsh @hannahk19.
