People still think you need a special visa to work from Bali for a month

I keep seeing folks stress about getting a digital nomad visa for short stays, but for a 30 day trip on the social visa, immigration in Denpasar just does not care if you're answering emails. Spent three weeks there last fall and the only question at the border was about my return flight. Has anyone actually had a problem with this on a tourist waiver?

Wait, they only asked about your return flight? That's wild... last time I went through they grilled me for ten minutes about where I was staying and wanted to see a printed hotel booking. I guess it really just depends on which officer you get.

It's like they have a daily quota of random questions to hit, keeps us all on our toes.

Remember hearing they actually do track question counts. A friend works for TSA and said they have to ask a certain number of follow-ups per shift. It's not random, it's policy to keep people from getting too comfortable with the routine.
