My laptop overheated in a Bangkok cafe and I lost two hours of client work
I was working on a deadline at a rooftop place near Sukhumvit 49 when my MacBook suddenly shut down from the heat, and after letting it cool for 30 minutes I realized I hadn't saved the file, so now I keep a USB fan in my bag has anyone else had their computer die at the worst possible moment?

2019?! Man that's brutal, still stings just hearing about it.

Man I gotta push back on this a little. I've been running my own flooring business for 8 years now and I've had laptops overheat on jobsites way worse than Bangkok cafes lol. The thing is, you gotta get in the habit of hitting Ctrl+S every time you pause for more than 10 seconds. I trained myself to do it after losing a whole quote spreadsheet in 2019. Also, that rooftop cafe sounds like a bad spot for any computer honestly. Direct sun plus no AC equals a sad laptop no matter what.
