My coffee shop routine got thrown off when my laptop died at 30% battery

I was at a coworking spot in Portland yesterday, getting ready for a client call, and my laptop just shut down at 30% battery. No warning, no slow drain, just black screen. Turns out the battery calibration was way off after I left it plugged in for two weeks straight. Had to borrow a charger from the barista and reschedule the call for 20 minutes later. Anyone else deal with a battery that lies to you like that?

Wait, two weeks straight plugged in?

Yeah, had the same thing happen with my old Macbook... I started doing a full drain and recharge once a month and it fixed the calibration issue pretty well.

Wait, @briancarter is that a Macbook thing or do all laptops need that? I swear I've never done it and my battery's fine.
