I just found out the average digital nomad visa in Europe costs about 75 euros to apply for, which is way less than I expected.

I was looking at Portugal's D7 visa page and saw the fee listed. I always assumed these things were hundreds of dollars. Makes planning a base there seem a bit more doable. Has anyone gone through the D7 process recently and can share how long it actually took from start to finish?

Heard the wait times are crazy long right now, like over a year?

Yeah, the hidden cost is definitely all that waiting. It really eats into your plans.

That's the thing I keep seeing everywhere, hidden fees are way down but the time cost is way up. It's like booking a cheap flight then paying for every little thing after. With visas, the real price is all the paperwork and waiting. My cousin looked at Portugal and said the bigger issue was proving income and getting all the documents translated, not the fee itself. It took him almost a year from first looking into it to actually getting there.
