I finally got my laptop back from a repair shop in Chiang Mai after a week

The screen went black on a Tuesday, and the first place said it would take 3 days. It actually took 7, and they charged me $220. I had to do all my client calls from my phone in a noisy cafe, which was a mess. Anyone know a good backup plan for when your main gear just dies?

What do you do for a living? I keep a cheap old laptop as a backup now. I got a refurbished one for like a hundred bucks and just keep my main files synced to a cloud drive. It's slow but it saved me last month when my main one died.
