Hit 50 countries this month and felt nothing, is that weird?

I crossed into my 50th country last Tuesday in Tallinn, Estonia. I used to track every new place like a scoreboard, but this one just felt like another bus ride and hostel check in. It made me wonder if I've been chasing numbers instead of actual experiences lately. Has anyone else hit a milestone like this and felt completely flat about it? What did you do to get the spark back?

...so when you say the flat feeling hit in Tallinn, I gotta ask, was it the 50th that did it, or was it just that Estonia happened to be the country where the wall finally came down? Because I had a similar thing happen on country 30, and it turned out I was just burned out from moving every three days. Did you actually want to be in Estonia that day, or were you just passing through because the border was easy?

Maybe the flat feeling is just the point where the places stop being the story and your own reasons for traveling become the story. Tracking numbers gives you a target, but once you hit it, you realize the target was never what you were actually looking for. The spark tends to come back when you stop asking what the next country will do for you and start asking what you actually want to do there.
