Coworking desk vs quiet cafe: Which one actually helps you focus?

I spent last month splitting my time between a $250/mo coworking space in Chiang Mai and a local cafe where I buy one coffee for $2. The coworking spot had fast WiFi and AC but I got distracted by all the networking chatter. The cafe was quieter but I felt guilty camping out for 4 hours on a single drink. I finished about the same amount of client work in both places. What do you guys pick for deep work days? Has anyone found a clear winner for their focus?

Oh man, the guilt of camping in a cafe for hours is real. I tried the same two options and ended up finding a middle ground that actually works for me. A library. Seriously, public libraries are free, quiet, and nobody cares if you stay all day as long as you don't make noise. The WiFi can be hit or miss but most have decent connections now. I've been going to the one near my apartment and I get way more done there than either the coworking space or the cafe. Plus you can bring your own snacks and nobody judges you. It's like a quiet cafe but without the awkward "should I buy another coffee" anxiety.

nobody cares if you stay all day" honestly describes like 90% of life's worries if you stop and think.

Library is genuinely the pro move here. I started doing the same thing and it fixed all the weird social pressure I didn't even realize was draining me. The only downside is you can't take phone calls but honestly that just forces me to actually work instead of pretending to. Plus most libraries have those little private study rooms you can grab if you need to hop on a video call or just want total silence. I found one near me with a cafe built into the lobby so I can grab a cheap coffee and still feel like I'm having a treat. It's the best of both worlds without the guilt.
