Can we talk about the day your whole setup just died in a foreign country?

Honestly, my laptop charger fried in a cafe in Chiang Mai last Tuesday, and the local shop wanted $120 for a new one. I spent 4 hours hunting for a cheaper one while my phone hotspot drained. What do you guys do for a backup power plan when you're somewhere remote?

Ever pack a universal adapter with a built-in surge protector?

Fried three phones before I learned that lesson.

Good question, @avery_smith22. I always pack one now after my last trip. Fried a cheap hair dryer in a hotel with bad wiring. The built-in surge part is key for places with unstable power, like some older buildings in Europe. It just gives peace of mind for charging a laptop or phone.
