Can we talk about coworking spaces in Medellin being way overhyped?

I dropped $250 on a month pass at a popular spot in El Poblado thinking it would be this big productivity boost. Instead I got constant noise from people on Zoom calls and wifi that dropped every afternoon. Honestly I worked better from my Airbnb's kitchen table. Anyone else find the whole coworking thing is just paying for a vibe that doesn't deliver?

Dude EXACTLY. Coworking spaces in Medellin are just WeWork with a nicer view and worse wifi. I swear half the price goes toward making the place look like a Pinterest board while the actual internet runs on a potato. Youre paying $250 for the privilege of overhearing some guy from San Francisco pitch his crypto startup for the fifth time that day. Meanwhile my kitchen table in Envigado had fiber optic that never once dropped and cost me zero extra money. The whole thing is a scam for people who want to feel like theyre "serious" about work but really just want free coffee and a place to look busy on Instagram. Honestly just go to a hotel lobby like that other guy said and save yourself the headache and the cash.

The Zona Rosa spots are basically just expensive coffee shops with worse wifi. I tried the WeWork near Provenza for two weeks and had the same issue, constant background noise from people taking calls. What actually worked better for me was the tiny place up in Laureles called CoWork Colombia, cost me 80 bucks for a month and had way fewer people on zoom calls. Hotels are also a decent hack, you can nosh into their lobby cafe areas free and the internet is usually rock solid since they need it for guests.

Found a quiet cafe in Laureles called Ritual that had solid wifi and let me sit for hours with just a coffee. Cost me like 3 bucks a day instead of 250, and nobody was taking loud zoom calls.
