Cable tangles in my go-bag snapped a USB-C port
I hastily packed my cables without organizers, and during travel, they twisted and broke the port on my external drive. Lost a day's work recovering data. Now I use silicone ties and a dedicated pouch. Keep your gear organized to avoid this mess.

Reading about your snapped USB-C port gave me flashbacks to my own cable chaos. Now I wrap each cable individually with velcro ties (the reusable kind) before tossing them in a compartment. It takes an extra minute but saves so much frustration and potential data loss.

Wait, your port actually snapped off? That’s brutal, I’ve never seen one break clean like that.

Honestly, all this fuss over cable organizers seems overblown. I mean, how often do ports actually snap from tangles? Most decent cables and devices can handle a bit of twisting. Idk, maybe it's just me, but I've thrown cables loose in my bag for years without issues. Just back up your data regularly, and you're fine without extra gear. Spending on pouches and ties adds up, and it's extra stuff to carry anyway.
