The difference in my 6.7 Powerstroke after I finally bit the bullet and did the DPF delete myself

For two years, that truck was a dog... maybe 12 mpg on a good day and a constant limp mode headache. Last month I pulled the whole system out in my driveway over a weekend, flashed it with a basic tune from a local shop in Boise. Now it's pulling like it should, getting 18 mpg consistently and no more regen cycles. Anyone else run into major issues with their tunes after doing this, or did you get it right the first time?

Honestly you're playing with fire for a few extra miles. That basic tune is probably running your EGTs way too hot because it's not dialed in right. I've seen guys melt pistons or crack manifolds within a year on those cheap flashes. The extra power feels great until you're replacing a turbo because the tune overspools it. It's a shortcut that often costs more long term.

Any chance you've noticed more turbo lag with that basic tune?

Actually been wondering if basic tunes mess with the wastegate duty cycle more than people talk about. Could make the turbo feel lazy down low.
