That torque wrench I borrowed failed on a head bolt, never again

Last Tuesday I used a buddy's snap-on torque wrench to do a 6.0 head stud job, and it clicked at 90 ft-lbs when I set it for 105. I caught it before torquing the rest but it cost me 3 hours tearing down the first cylinder to redo it. Anyone else had a tool go bad on them on a critical fastener and switch to brand new only for that kind of work?
